    Bar Mitzvah Photographer

Bar Mitzvah photography and Bat Mitzvah photography capture the simcha of a once-in-a-lifetime event. Being the Seattle Bar Mitzvah photographer or Seattle Bat Mitzvah photographer capturing the holy moments at the synagogue as well as the fun at the celebration requires an intimate knowledge and respect of the ceremony, traditions and process. Being the Seattle Bar Mitzvah photographer to capture photos of the moment of pride and accomplishment at the end of the maftir is my special joy. The photographic record of the day has to catch the unique personality that the bar/bat mitzvah brings to the ceremony, as well as the celebration.

There are a lot of great synagogues and temples throughout Western Washington.

Here are some of the Bar Mitzvah / Bat Mitzvah locations:

    Tacoma Wedding Photographer

I loved being a Tacoma Wedding Photographer.

    Wedding venues in Tacoma WA

The current city of Tacoma was incorporated in 1884 from the Old Tacoma and the New Tacoma. It is known as the City of Destiny. This name happens to be quite a symbol for all the couples that decide to take their first steps together in that marvelous area. The various wedding venues in Tacoma WA will mark their life and play an important role in their happiness from that moment on. Being the third largest city in the state of Washington, Tacoma offers great opportunities for all the couples that want to be married there. There are places for the old and young, for more traditionally oriented ones as well as for the modern people.

There are many chapels and seminaries in Tacoma, like for instance the Northwest Baptist Seminary or the Shiloh Baptist Church. These wedding venues in Tacoma WA are usually located in beautiful buildings and have managed to keep the warmth of the family union throughout the years. These buildings are often an architectural treasure and present a pleasant opportunity for every wedding photographer to make remarkable photos. As the buildings are still used, one can be sure that on the inside they will offer a modern look and will present all the facilities a wedding needs – from the place to host the ceremony to the celebration itself. The Northwest Baptist Seminary is located on the former Weyerhaeuser estate and offers unique view of Puget Sound as well as a rose garden and vast mansion grounds. They all add to a delightful experience for every wedding celebration.

Another type of wedding venues in Tacoma WA are the various castles and private estates that are renovated and used to host a huge diversity of events. One such place is the Thornewood Castle Inn & Gardens. It presents a real historic castle with enormous gardens around it. The place looks ideal for romantic celebrations and ceremonies. It features a “secret garden” which is sunken by design and thus hidden from the first sight of the passengers. The castle has also a traditional European hall which could be used for spectacular indoor celebrations.

One of the most beautiful wedding venues in Tacoma WA is the Wine & Roses Country Estate. It presents a five acre of land and has everything a wedding couple might need including accommodation and changing room for the bride and the groom. They offer both outdoor and indoor ceremonies and celebrations. The estate is more than 100 years old and carries unique vintage atmosphere. It has been renovated and brought to its full shine by the heirs of the first owners. Inside the house there is a “secret cellar” which is open for the guests to find and to enjoy their cups of wine in private.

The barn is at the couple's disposal too and it could be used as an authentic backdrop for photographs or for an indoor ceremony and celebration. It's floor is perfect for dancing. If you prefer an evening outdoor wedding, the estate will offer you a celebration under the stars with soft lights everywhere on the lawn.

    Everett Wedding Photographer

I love being an Everett Wedding Photographer.

    Wedding venues in Everett WA

Everett is known as a relaxing place to live and a dynamic place to work. Its area is full of natural parks and water resources, which make it a perfect place for a wedding in the open. Wedding venues in Everett WA offers the best from both worlds – the urban style and the beauty of nature.

For the wedding day to be remembered it has to be perfect in all of its details. The bride and the groom have to be relieved from the tension of all the organizational stuff and they have to feel comfortable with everything on that special day of their life. There are different styles of wedding as there are different types of people. Some would prefer a more formal celebration with traditional tables, suits, rituals while others would love to improvise and make the wedding follow their own agenda. Some would choose the indoor celebrations with dances and dinner while others could get everything outside, in the open.

The city of Everett with its world-class mixture of landscape and high-class urban life could offer everyone the perfect choice for their wedding day. The wedding venues in Everett WA include everything from luxury hotels in the middle of the city to the cozy chapels and marvelous mansions in secluded places of the area.

A couple could enjoy the classical elegance of the Italian Renaissance in the Hotel Monte Cristo, which is a well-preserved historical building. Its ballroom can host up to 130 guests, has a stained glass, which lets the skylight to come from above, and a Bose/Dennon sound system with speakers integrated in the ceiling. These all will surely make the wedding unforgettable. The hotel also has a spectacular fireplace and hosts continuous art exhibitions, which will be available for all the guests to see.

Another interesting place from the wedding venues in Everett WA is the Abayas' Ballroom. It is a host of various dancing lessons and courses and is big enough to take up to 195 people attending the wedding. Of similar type is the Savior Hall, which is located on the beautiful Savior campus. It is easily accessible by everyone who comes from Everett or drives from North Seattle. It can host the wedding celebration or even the whole event and ceremony with the proper layout. This means your guests will not have to drive through town or worry where to be between the ceremony and the celebration.
Another type of wedding venues in Everett WA are its famous mansions and open gardens.

The Arbor gardens are located just north of historic downtown Snohomish and utilize one acre of ceremony site. This is a mostly outdoor ceremony facility with plenty of green meadows, trees and all natural environment. The place offers several types of gazebos – a Victorian one, a wrought iron one and a wooden one. After the ceremony, the celebrations could continue in the huge gardens.

The Manor is another famous and in fact, quite a big wedding and events facility. It is located on 13 acres in South Everett. It is well known for its marvelous nature and perfect location. It has indoor ability to host your entire wedding in case of weather changes. Thus it is one of the best places for various and unique outdoor and indoor ceremonies.

Seattle Wedding Photographers - Wedding Venues

There are many choices when looking for a venue for your wedding and also a large choice for Seattle Wedding Photographers.

    Wedding venues in Seattle WA

The Wedding day takes a special place in our lives. We all want it to be marvelous, filled with joy and remembered for eternity. One of the most important ingredients for this to happen is the place where our wedding celebration will take place. Wedding venues in Seattle WA offers a huge variety of opportunities. In addition, no matter how beautiful one describes their place the bride and the groom have to choose a place that suits them best. For this day is theirs only.

The variety of wedding venues in Seattle WA is enormous. There are traditional places, which offer more of a pastoral atmosphere. They even could have a wooden chapel where the couple could make their commitments before going outside to celebrate on the meadow. These places sometimes emphasize the old-school virtues and are more suitable for conservative young people.

The wedding celebration in such a venue often takes place in the open. It emphasizes on the natural environment and the beauty of flowers, trees, meadows and everything that could lead the couple and the guests away from the everyday stress of the urban life. As such, places these venues are also preferred from hard working individuals, which would like to experience something different on their wedding day.

However, Seattle offers more. There are places inside the city that could be even more spectacular and breath taking. They present the best of the urban style and glamour. Such wedding venues in Seattle WA could be at many of the hotels that offer their ballrooms for wedding celebrations. Some of these ballrooms are decorated in a classical style and present the best of the baroque, rococo and other similar architectural styles. They are suitable for big weddings with somewhere between 100-500 guests. The celebrations could be even organized as a classical ball and resemble the style and high-class of the passing ages.

There are also many modern wedding venues. They combine the best from the Seattle way of life and the current tendencies in wedding. They are vital, fresh and colorful. In many wedding venues in Seattle WA, the guests will be able to enjoy gourmet foods of their choice. The culinary artistry is one of the main prides of the wedding places all over the city as they could provide you with almost any food you could imagine for your wedding day.

The in-town places compete on their architecture and the different wedding atmosphere they present. In the famous Seattle Aquarium, the wedding celebration could be in the company of all kinds of underwater creatures. The place is situated undersea so the guests are able to see the swimming fishes through the windows that offer them a view to the Washington waters.

The Georgetown ballroom is known for its artsy and funky decorations, the gorgeous lightning and all other small details and signs that make people wonder what the next hall will reveal. Its mezzanine place and staircase offer a perfect opportunity for the bride to enter the wedding in all of her glory.

    Bellevue Wedding Photography

Here are some ideas to virtually guarantee beautiful Bellevue Wedding Photography.

The Wedding day is a day of special dreams for many couples and their parents. Often the mothers want their daughter to look like the most beautiful woman in the world on that day and they start to organize everything in advance. They start to look for dresses, carry their daughters and friends off to bridal shows and try to find the best place to celebrate the marriage. Wedding venues in Bellevue WA offers a great variety of places no matter if the wedding is to be in a chapel, church, mansion or a hotel. If the couple prefers or the wedding style requires the wedding, celebration could be held outdoor or indoor. Whatever style and place the young couple chooses, it is important that they feel free there. They have to be able to forget about all the worrying and to enjoy their day to the fullest.

For that to happen the place for the wedding has to be chosen according to several criteria. One of them is the number of guests. The place has to offer enough free room and still not be so big that the celebrating group to look like being isolated in a corner. The place should be chosen also in order to be the most convenient to the bride and groom. It is often better for the wedding venue to fit their style of living and their wishes than to that of the parents and relatives.

The good news is that wedding venues in Bellevue WA offer a variety that would suit to every taste. In many places there could be found a hall for a rehearsal dinner, which could be a good choice if your wedding has many rituals or there are many guests invited. Most of the venues include a garden; sometimes even a courtyard or a gazebo. It is a common practice to get a photographer, which is familiar with the place your wedding will be held in because that gives him or her the ability to shoot your wedding from positions they already know, and not to improvise unsuccessfully. Some venues will let the photographers explore the place before the real celebration to get familiar with it and its lighting and architectural conditions.

For the more modern couples the town of Bellevue offers great wedding locations. There are modern buildings with all the clear and nature friendly style of today's architecture. One of the most well known wedding venues in Bellevue WA is the Meydenbauer Center, which is the town's premier convention center. It also hosts many plays and has plenty of room to offer for a spectacular and unforgettable wedding celebration.

The town offers also many community facilities, which could be used for a wedding celebration. These facilities are often located in beautiful areas with lots of natural parks, trees and flowers. One such place is the Newport Hills Swim and Tennis Club, which is a community driven organization and is situated in a beautiful landscape. It includes several pools, which your guests could enjoy.

Wedding venues in Bellevue WA also includes many private estates, which could be rented for the wedding celebration. They often could present unique luxury and style.

Seattle Boudoir Photography Sees Increase. Bright spot in the photography world

Seattle boudoir photographer reports increase in demand for boudoir photography ahead of Holiday Season. Many woman seem to be focussing on giving a part of themselves to their partner to make their holiday budgets go further. Walzer Photography has seen a sharp increase in demand for boudoir photography also sometimes referred to as either lingerie photography or glamour photography.

In addition to the traditional boudoir portraits typically taken in lingerie or bra and panty sets, Walzer Photography is also seeing increased interest in custom calendars and videos. They have been particularly focussed on providing both still images and video optimized for viewing in iTunes, on iPods / iPhones and other smart phones. Women are telling Walzer Photography they want a product their partners can take discretely on business trips.

In addition to being a boudoir photographer, Walzer Photography provides photographic services in the following market segments:

Family portrait photography and portraying families in portraits that will be kept and displayed for years to come is a special passion of mine. As a Seattle family portrait photographer, I am blessed with an unending supply of inspirational locations and can always find the perfect photography spot that reflect a family’s own character. Whether photographing multiple generations or immediate family, I work to pose the group in a manner that will reveal the deep and abiding love between family members. Family portraits can portray the love and adoration of a toddler, as well as the amusement (and sometimes separation!) of a teenager. Family portrait photography can reflect everything from love to whimsical parental exasperation. I love looking for the clues in families relationships and communicating that into my portraits. I love being a Seattle family portrait photographer.

A Seattle family portrait photographer always has to be prepared to shoot in any weather and lighting conditions; Walzer Photography always comes fully equipped and ready to perfectly capture every setting with state of the art equipment and backups.

Seattle High School Senior Portrait photographer has the opportunity to help teenagers who truly want to create their own unique and individual personalities. High School senior portrait photography captures high school seniors and puts their identity into print! My job as a Seattle high school senior portrait photographer is to work with each student to help them to define what they want out of their portraits. I guide them through the process of finding the elements in their lives that give them their special character and can be portrayed in photographs. Athletes, scholars, even computer focused hobbies and activities have a place in the portrait layout to truly reflect the individual. As a high school portrait photographer, I can provide settings in studio and Seattle locations that will reflect and support the student’s life and personality. Parents have a special role in this too, as they will surely want a specific “look” from the portraits they want to display and send out to family and friends.

A Seattle wedding photographer has to record a myriad of elements that make the wedding day a complex equation with only one chance for a perfect photography outcome! My job as the Seattle wedding photographer is to not only record the nuptials, but the entire wedding day. While the Bride and Groom are certainly the key photo subjects, Moms and Dads, siblings, family and friends play an integral part of the wedding day’s photographic journal. Knowing where to be as well as when to be there are key to photographing the range of emotions of the day as well as the iconic moments. There is a time and a place for “staged” wedding portrait photographs as well as candid moment photos and I always have the schedule for the wedding day worked out to make sure to capture all the photographs that will be needed to record the laughter, tears and joy of the day. The Seattle wedding photographer needs to show the deep abiding love of a bride and groom as well as the joy of the wedding day.

Walzer Photography also provides industrial photography to ForkliftDeals who sell pallet stackers and to LiftScience who manufacture pallet stackers.

    Valentines Day Photography

    Valentines Day Photography

    Valentines Day Photography:

Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the English-speaking countries, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines". Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards The sending of Valentines was a fashion in nineteenth-century Great Britain, and, in 1847, Esther Howland developed a successful business in her Worcester, Massachusetts home with hand-made Valentine cards based on British models. The popularity of Valentine cards in 19th century America, where many Valentine cards are now general greeting cards rather than declarations of love, was a harbinger of the future commercialization of holidays in the United States. It's considered one of the Hallmark holidays.

The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year, behind Christmas. The association estimates that, in the US, men spend on average twice as much money as women.

Please consider us as your Valentines Day Photography.

    Tukwila Wedding Photographer

    Tukwila Wedding Photographer:

Tukwila is a city in King County, Washington, United States, about 6 miles south of Seattle. The population was 17,181 at the 2000 census.

The earliest people in Tukwila were the Duwamish who made their homes along the Black and Duwamish Rivers. They named Tukwila for the lush forests of hazelnut trees which grew around them. The Duwamish lived in cedar longhouses, hunted and fished, picked wild berries and used the river for trade with neighboring peoples.
In 1853, the area was settled by Joseph Foster, a Canadian pioneer who had traveled to the northwest from Wisconsin. Foster would become known as the "Father of Tukwila" and serve King County, Washington Territory in the legislature for 22 years. Today, Foster's legendary home on the banks of the Duwammish River is preserved as Fort Dent Park, as it also served as a military base during 1850s Indian Wars. Foster's name is also memorialized in the Foster neighborhood of Tukwila where Foster High School is located.

In the early years of Foster, Washington, the small village would grow into an agricultural center and a vital trading point in the upper-Duwammish River Valley. Population began to grow as well, and expanded industry would soon follow. Although with the largely farm-oriented commerce in Tukwila, other businesses found fertile land in which to grow from.
Early electric rail trains traveled along Interurban Avenue in Tukwila, connecting to Renton and a line to Tacoma. The Interurban Railroad operated a commuter line from 1902 to 1928, making it possible to travel from Seattle to Tacoma in less than an hour. The first macadam paved road in Washington State was in Tukwila and bears the name of this new method of street paving. One of the earliest paved military roads is located in the city.
Tukwila was incorporated as a city in 1908.

Walzer Photography is a full service photographer covering all aspects of bridal and wedding photography including: engagement photos, bridal boudoir photography, wedding ceremony photos and wedding reception photo coverage. Please consider us as your Tukwila wedding photographer.

    Shoreline Wedding Photographer:

Shoreline is a city in King County, Washington, United States, 15 miles north of Downtown Seattle. As of the 2000 census, the population was 53,025, making it the 14th largest city in the state of Washington.
Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Shoreline ranks 91st of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked.

Shoreline began in 1890 with the platting of the neighborhood of Richmond Beach, on Puget Sound, in anticipation of the arrival of the Great Northern Railroad the next year. Over the next two decades, Shoreline was connected to Seattle via the Seattle-Everett Interurban streetcar line (1906) and a newly paved North Trunk Road (now Aurora Avenue N., State Route 99) (1913), helping to increase its population.

The name "Shoreline" first came to be applied to this stretch of unincorporated King County in 1944, when it was given to the school district. As the school board stretched from "Shore to Shore" (Puget Sound to Lake Washington) and "Line to Line" (the old Seattle city limit of 85th St to the Snohomish County Line). Though the modern borders of the city do not stretch to Lake Washington , the area kept the "Shoreline" name.

After the incorporation of Lake Forest Park in 1961, the remainder of the Shoreline School District remained an unincorporated portion of King County. Fifty-one years later, on August 31, 1995, Shoreline was officially incorporated as a code city and adopted the council-manager form of government.

Walzer Photography is a full service photographer covering all aspects of bridal and wedding photography including: engagement photos, bridal boudoir photography, wedding ceremony photos and wedding reception photo coverage. Please consider us as your Shoreline wedding photographer.

    Mercer Island Wedding Photographer:

Mercer Island is a city in King County, Washington, United States and the name of the island in Lake Washington on which the city sits. The city is within the Seattle Metropolitan Area and its population was 22,650 in 2008, according to the 2008 US Census Bureau population estimates.

Mercer Island was first settled in the 1870s. It was named after early visitors, the Mercer brothers, who often rowed from Seattle for berry picking, hunting and fishing. The first large settlement was on the northwest side of Mercer Island, called "East Seattle." C.C. Calkins built a resort, the Calkins Hotel, in 1889 in East Seattle. This resort led to the development of a ferry dock (Calkins landing), which in turn led to a growing population. While the Calkins hotel burned to the ground in 1908, the ferry service continued, and a small business district prospered. In the 1930s, George Lightfoot began campaigning for a bridge to Seattle. The Lake Washington Floating Bridge was built in 1940, and this spurred the move of the business district to its present location near the northern end of the island.

The City of Mercer Island incorporated on July 5, 1960. It included all the land area of the island with the exception of the 70 acre (280,000 m²) business district. Just over a month later, on August 9, the business district incorporated as the Town of Mercer Island, wholly surrounded by the City. The two municipalities finally merged on May 19, 1970.

Des Moines is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 29,267 at the 2000 census. Des Moines should not be confused with the city of the same name located in Iowa.

Des Moines is located on the east shore of Puget Sound, approximately halfway between the major cities of Seattle and Tacoma. The city is bordered by the suburbs of Federal Way to the south, Kent to the east, Sea-Tac to the northeast, Burien to the north, and Normandy Park to the northwest. It is one of the few points along this shoreline where the topography facilitates access to the water, and a recreational marina operated by the city, with moorage, boat launching and pier fishing facilities, is located there. Forested Saltwater State Park on a steep ravine between the Zenith and Woodmont neighborhoods is the most-used State Park on the Sound. Near the border of Federal Way, Redondo Beach has a board-walk complete with a Salty's restaurant and a pay parking lot. The town is also home to Highline Community College.

Pierce County is the second most populous county in the U.S. state of Washington. Formed out of Thurston County on December 22, 1852, by the legislature of Oregon Territory, it was named for U.S. President Franklin Pierce. As of 2007, the population was 805,400. The county seat is Tacoma, on Commencement Bay, which is also the county's largest city.

Pierce County is notable for being home to the Mount Rainier volcano, the tallest mountain in the Cascade Range. Its most recent recorded eruption was between 1820 and 1854. There is no imminent risk of eruption, but geologists expect that the volcano will erupt again. If this should happen, parts of Pierce County and the Puyallup Valley would be at risk from lahars, lava, or pyroclastic flows. The Mount Rainier Volcano Lahar Warning System was established in 1998 to assist in the evacuation of the Puyallup River valley in case of eruption

Sammamish is an Eastside suburb of Seattle in King County, Washington, United States. It was incorporated in 1999.
The Sammamish Plateau was part of unincorporated King County for most of its history. A vote in 1991 to join neighboring Issaquah failed, as did a vote on incorporation the following year. King County is located in the U.S. state of Washington. The population in the 2000 census was 1,737,034, and in 2009 was an estimated 1,909,300. By population, King is the largest county in Washington, and the 14th largest in the United States.
The county seat is Seattle, which is the state's largest city. About two-thirds of the county's population lives in the city's suburbs. King County ranks among the 100 highest-income counties in the United States.

The county was formed out of territory within Thurston County on December 22, 1852, by the Oregon Territory legislature, and was named after Alabama resident William R. King, Vice President under President Franklin Pierce. Seattle was made the county seat on January 11, 1853.
King County originally extended to the Olympic Peninsula. According to historian Bill Speidel, when peninsular prohibitionists threatened to shut down Seattle's saloons, Doc Maynard engineered a peninsular independence movement; King County lost what is now Kitsap County, but preserved its entertainment industry.

On February 24, 1986, the King County Council passed Council Motion 6461, "setting forth the historical basis for the 'renaming' of King County in honor of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.," another resident of Alabama. Because only the state can charter counties, this change was not made official until April 19, 2005, when Washington Governor Christine Gregoire signed Senate Bill 5332 into law.
Due primarily to the advocacy of council member Larry Gossett, the County Council voted on February 27, 2006 to change the county's logo from a royal crown to an image of King's face. On March 12, 2007, the new logo was unveiled.

Kirkland is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is a suburb of Seattle on the Eastside. The population was 45,054 at the 2000 census; its estimated 2006 population of 46,476 makes it the ninth largest city in King County and the nineteenth largest city in the state. That does not count 33,000 residents in areas that voted to annex to Kirkland in the November 3, 2009 election. Features of the city include its downtown, located on the lakefront (Kirkland is the only city on the Eastside with a waterfront downtown), with restaurants, art galleries, a 400 seat performing arts center, public parks, including beaches, and a collection of public art, primarily bronze sculptures.

Kirkland is the former home of the Seattle Seahawks; the NFL team's headquarters and training facility were located in Kirkland for its first 32 seasons. The Seahawks moved to the new 19-acre Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton on August 18, 2008. Warehouse chain Costco previously had its headquarters in Kirkland (now in Issaquah), hence the "Kirkland Signature" store brand. Prominent companies such as Bungie Studios (developer of the Halo, Marathon, Myth and Oni video game series) have headquarters in Kirkland, has a Google development office; see List of companies based in Kirkland, Washington.

Kirkland had its moment in the limelight when the 1982 Kirkland National Little League team won the Little League World Series. It also was the home to Little League's 1992 Big League Softball World Series Champions representing the Eastside District Nine Leagues. Since 1999 Kirkland has been the home of the Little League Junior Softball World Series held each August at Kirkland's Everest Park.

Burien is a city in King County, Washington, United States, just south of Seattle. The population was 31,881 in the 2000 census.

European settlement in the Burien area dates to 1870, when Mike Kelly walked up a hill from the Seattle, South Seattle area. When he emerged from the trees he said, "This is truly a sunny dale." Still today, the Burien area is called Sunnydale. He claimed a 160-acre plot of land and built a house and a farm.

Ten years later, Gottlieb Von Boorian, a German immigrant, arrived in Sunnydale. At this point, the community was only trails and small houses. There were no roads or non-residential buildings. Von Boorian built a cabin on the southeast corner of Lake Burien and also was said to have formed the community into a town bearing his name. A real estate office was built and soon more people began pouring in to Burien.
In the early 1900s, people of Seattle came by the Mosquito Fleet to Three Tree Point, just west of town to sunbathe and swim.
In 1915, the Burien railroad was completed. It ran on what is today Ambaum Boulevard from Burien to White Center to Seattle. A small passenger train ran the tracks and was affectionately named by the residents, The Toonerville Trolley. However in the summer, squished caterpillars made the track slippery, and in the winter, the tracks iced over. Soon the Toonerville Trolley was removed.

Burien was an unincorporated portion of King County prior to February 28, 1993, when it incorporated as a city. There had been previous attempts to incorporate the greater Burien area, but those efforts failed. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, citizens felt they needed a more responsive government to help address the looming threat of the Port of Seattle's runway expansion to the west (known as the "Third Runway"), so an effort was again made to incorporate as a city.
Citizens also felt that multi-family apartments and dwellings had proliferated out of control in Burien and other unincorporated areas of King County, and that they had no local voice in government (other than the King County Council) that would hear their concerns. The residents of the area desired a government who could help curb the rapid development of mulit-family apartment buildings, which some felt had gone un-checked under King County's government.

    Bothell Wedding Photographer:

Bothell is a city located in King and Snohomish Counties in the state of Washington. The population was 30,150 at the time of the 2000 census. Prior to annexation and the 2000 census, the northern portions of Bothell which lie in Snohomish County were considered a part of the Alderwood Manor-Bothell North census-designated place.

Prior to European settlement, the Sammamish River Valley from Lake Washington to Issaquah Creek south and upstream of Lake Sammamish was inhabited by a population of as many as 200 native Americans known as the Sammamish. The Sammamish were relocated after the Puget Sound War in 1856 to reservations and non-reservation lands.

In 1870, Columbus S. Greenleaf and George R. Wilson filed land claims in the area abandoned by the Sammamish near present-day Bothell, and built homes. Eight families followed over the next six years. In 1876, Canadian George Brackett bought land and began commercial logging out of a camp located on the north bank of the Sammamish River in what is now the heart of downtown Bothell. A store, school, and sawmill followed over the next several years.

In 1885, Brackett sold 80 acres to David Bothell, a settler from Pennsylvania. The town's first postmaster, who bought his property from Bothell, named the town in his honor in 1888. Later that same year, a local railroad was built through the town to transport coal from Issaquah. Bothell was officially incorporated on April 14, 1909.

Bothell continued to grow as logging expanded and boat traffic brought increasing amounts of goods and passengers up and down the river. As more people moved into the area, the Army Corps of Engineers decided to dredge and straighten the river in the years shortly after Bothell's incorporation. Most boat traffic came to an abrupt end only a few years later when Lake Washington was lowered in 1917. Water transport also shifted to trucks after a brick road was built from Seattle. The logging economy declined quickly around the same time, and the local economy shifted to farming.

After World War II, better highways and a post-war boom brought suburban development to Bothell. These new neighborhoods and a series of annexations dramatically expanded Bothell's population from about 1000 in 1950 to over 30,000 as of 2006. Bothell was mostly a bedroom community for people working in Seattle until the 1990s when business development brought new jobs to create a regional employment center with about 20,000 jobs, many in high technology sectors such as biotechnology and software development. In 2000, a branch campus of the University of Washington opened in Bothell, co-located with Cascadia Community College.

Lakewood is a city in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 58,211 at the 2000 census.

Lakewood was officially incorporated on February 28, 1996. Historical names include Lakewood Center and Lakes District. Lakewood is a major suburb of Tacoma and is home to Western State Hospital, a regional state psychiatric hospital.

There are several lakes within the city limits; the largest in area are American Lake, Lake Steilacoom, Gravelly Lake, Lake Louise, and Waughop Lake. A number of small creeks flow through Lakewood, some of which drain into nearby Puget Sound. The largest of these, Chambers Creek, flows from Lake Steilacoom to Chambers Bay between nearby University Place and Steilacoom.
The western terminus of State Route 512 is in Lakewood, at its intersection with Interstate 5. The proposed State Route 704 would be the only other state highway entering the city.

Lakewood shares its eastern boundary with McChord Air Force Base and Fort Lewis. The city is considering annexing the two installations, in part to use its zoning laws to maintain clear space around them.
In 2006, an informal survey by The News Tribune found that 36% of respondents, more than for any other single area of the 21 listed, believed Lakewood to be the most difficult area of Pierce County to navigate.

Auburn is a city in King and Pierce counties (primarily in King) in the U.S. state of Washington. The population was 40,314 at the 2000 census; the State of Washington Office of Financial Management estimates the City of Auburn's population to be 67,485 as of April 1, 2008. The population increased dramatically resulting from the recent annexations of the West Hill, and Lea Hill, Washington communities directly east and west of the city.
Though founded on June 13, 1891 before either Seattle or Tacoma had suburbs, Auburn is now generally considered a suburb in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metropolitan area, while still retaining its historical downtown district. Auburn is currently ranked the 13th largest city in the state of Washington.
Auburn is roughly bordered by the cities of Federal Way, Pacific, and Algona to the west, Sumner to the south, unincorporated King County to the east, and Kent to the north. The Muckleshoot Indian Reservation is located within city limits.

Renton Wedding Photographer: Most people think of Renton as an industrial town but there are many nice palces to get married and also create some beautiful photos with your Renton wedding photographer.

Renton is a city in King County, Washington, United States. Situated 13 miles southeast of Seattle, Washington, Renton straddles the southeast shore of Lake Washington. The State of Washington Office of Financial Management estimates the City of Renton's population to be 82,548 as of May 2009. The population increased significantly with the recent annexation of the Benson Hill communities directly southeast of the city. According to the data from the Office of Financial Management, Renton currently contains the 11th largest population in the state, and 5th largest in King County.
Based on per capita income, Renton ranks 100th of 522 areas ranked in the state of Washington.

The town of Renton was founded as a farming site by Erasmus M. Smithers who discovered coal there and brought in Charles D. Shattuck as coal mine operator. Renton was incorporated as a city in 1901 (September 6) when coal mining and timber processing were the most important economic activities in the area. The town's population boomed during World War II when Boeing built their Renton Factory to produce the B-29 Superfortress. The factory has continued to operate since then, and still produces 737 aircraft. It also produced the Jetfoil and Pegasus class hydrofoils in the 1970s. As of 2001, 40% of all commercial aircraft in the air were assembled in Renton. Boeing remains the largest employer in Renton, which is home to over 10,000 employees and three of the aerospace giant's six major business divisions: Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Capital Corporation and the Shared Services Group. The local newspaper in the 1970s, the Record Chronicle, proclaimed the city the jet capital of the world.
Paccar has traditionally been a large employer in the city as well with its Kenworth Truck plant located in Renton's industrial area on the south end of Lake Washington. Game company Wizards of the Coast also is headquartered in Renton. Providence Health System has centralized certain of its operations in Renton and according to Mayor Koelker's 2007 State of the City address, expects to eventually have 1,000 workers at Southgate Office Park. Online social-networking website Classmates.com is also located in the aforementioned Southgate Office Park.

Recently, owing to its location at the confluence of three major freeways, Renton has become home to a number of destination retailers that draw customers from around the state, including Fry's Electronics and the only IKEA store in the state of Washington. Renton was also the starting point for the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train, which stopped service in the summer of 2007.

Seattle Wedding Photographers: Seattle is the largest city in Washington State and offers some stunning wedding venues. There are many Seattle wedding photographers to choose from.

Seattle is located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Situated in the western part of Washington state on an isthmus between Puget Sound (an arm of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada – United States border, it is named after Chief Seattle, of the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes.

The encompassing Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metropolitan statistical area is the 15th largest in the United States, and the largest in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. The major economic, cultural and educational center in the region, Seattle is the county seat of King County. As of July 1, 2008, the city had an estimated municipal population of 598,541, making it the twenty-fifth most populous city in the U.S. and a metropolitan area population of 3,344,813.

    Tacoma Wedding Photographer

    Tacoma Wedding Photographer

Tacoma Wedding Photographer: Tacoma lives in the shadow of Seattle that is approximately 30 miles to the north. There are some great Tacoma wedding venues, including the Thornwood Castle Inn. As a Tacoma Wedding Photographer, I love a venue such as Thornwood. Your wedding portraits will be perfect.

Tacoma adopted its name after the nearby Mount Rainier, originally called Mount Tacoma or Mount Tahoma. It is known as the "City of Destiny" because the area was chosen to be the western terminus of the Northern Pacific Railroad in the late 1800s. The decision of the railroad was influenced by Tacoma's neighboring Commencement Bay. By connecting the bay with the railroad Tacoma’s motto became “When rails meet sails.” Today Commencement Bay serves the Port of Tacoma, a center of international trade on the Pacific Coast.

Like most central cities, Tacoma suffered a prolonged decline in the mid-20th century as a result of suburbanization and divestment. Recently the city has been undergoing a renaissance, investing in the downtown core to establish the University of Washington, Tacoma; Tacoma Link, the first modern electric light rail service in the state; various art and history museums; and a restored inlet, the Thea Foss Waterway.
With a long history of blue-collar labor politics — from the railroad workers of the 1800s, to the longshoremen of the 20th century, to the Labor Ready workers of today — Tacoma has long been known for its rough, gritty image.

Tacoma-Pierce County has been named one of the most livable areas in the country. Tacoma was also recently listed as the 19th most walkable city in the country. In contrast, the city is also ranked as the most stressed-out city in the country in a 2004 survey. In 2006, women's magazine Self named Tacoma the "Most Sexually Healthy City" in the United States

    Bellevue Wedding Photography

    Bellevue Wedding Photography

Bellevue wedding photography: Bellevue, WA is a fast growing city in it's own right in the shadow of Seattle. There are both urban and suburban portions of Bellevue that offer nice wedding venues. My two favorite Bellevue wedding venues are: The Hyatt Hotel and The Westin Hotel. Either of these locations will facilitate beautiful wedding portraits for Bellevue wedding photography.

Bellevue was founded in 1869 by William Meydenbauer and was officially incorporated on March 21, 1953. Prior to the opening of the Lake Washington Floating Bridge in 1940, Bellevue was a rural area with little development. Once the bridge opened, access from Seattle improved, and the area gradually grew into a bedroom community.

Following the 1963 opening of a second bridge across the lake, the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, the city began to grow more rapidly. It has since become one of the largest cities in the state, with several high-rise structures in its core and a burgeoning business community.

Reflective of Bellevue's growth over the years is Bellevue Square, now one of the largest shopping centers in the region. Opened in 1946, Bellevue Square underwent a significant expansion in the 1980s. More recently, an expansion to Bellevue Square along Bellevue Way called "The Lodge" and the new One Lincoln Tower promise to strengthen downtown Bellevue's role as the largest Seattle Eastside shopping and dining destination.

The city's long-term plans include the Bel-Red Corridor Project, a large-scale planning effort to encourage the redevelopment of a large northern section of the city bordering the adjacent town of Redmond. Patterned after what many civic leaders consider the successful redevelopment of the downtown core, early plans include "superblock" mixed use projects similar to Lincoln Square. Premised on the 2008 approval of the extension of Link Light Rail to the Eastside, the city hopes to mitigate transportation problems impeding earlier efforts in redeveloping the downtown core; viewed as an economic development opportunity by many in the business and building development community, the process has focused on infrastructure and the encouragement of private construction in a large-scale urban renewal effort.

    Issaquah Wedding Photographer

Issaquah, WA is located approximately 15 miles west of Seattle. It has been growing quickly over the past 20-30 years and is a beautiful place to hold your wedding.

My three favorite Issaquah wedding venues are: The Lodge at Beaver Lake, Tibbetts Creek Manor and The High Alpine Chapel. All three of these wedding venues will provide you with a beautiful backdrop for your wedding portraits and will make my job as your Issaquah wedding photographer easier.

Issaquah is an anglicized word for a local Native American name, meaning "the sound of birds". Another version of the name is said to have come from the pioneers, who, being impressed with the multitude of wetland birds, called the area Squak Valley. When the next wave of settlers came and asked for the name of area the Natives told them, "Is Squak."

The city was officially incorporated on April 29, 1892. Initially a small mining town, this town has changed noticeably both in its appearance and economic focus. Issaquah was originally developed to service the mining industry on nearby Squak and Cougar mountain, and began as the town of Gilman, Washington. As the mining deposits neared depletion in the late 1890s, other companies started to realize Issaquah's potential to support a lucrative lumber business. These companies exported timber from Issaquah and other small, local towns to Seattle and larger, rapidly growing communities throughout western Washington. These early boom industries, however, faded into a period of relative quiet by the time of the Great Depression. The town remained fairly placid through the succeeding decades, with The Boeing Company providing the majority of employment in the area. Microsoft and other technological industries moved into Redmond, Washington and other cities in the area, and later established operations in Issaquah itself. Both Boeing and Microsoft have significantly affected Issaquah's history, cultural development, and diverse population through their active community participation and attraction of outside residents. In June 1996, Costco moved its global headquarters to Issaquah from neighboring Kirkland, Washington. Boeing's first wooden seaplane was built by employees from Issaquah and took off from Lake Sammamish.

    Everett Wedding Photographer

Everett is a city just north of Seattle, WA. It is probably best known as the site of production for all of Boeing wide-body aircraft.

My favorite three wedding venues in Everett are the Arbor Gardens, Victorian Vows and The Manor. All three are wonderful places to book your wedding and provide a nice backdrop for an Everett wedding photographer.

Softer Portraits With My New Westcott Apollo Softbox

I just got a new Westcott Apollo softbox to use with my Nikon Speedlights. I've used other types of light diffusers in the past and I'm am anticipating the Westcott will give me more lighting control than I've had in the past.

I wasn't sure if the Nikon Creative Lighting System optical trigger would work since the flash has to be mounted totally enclosed within the lightbox. No problem, it works very well; doesn't even have to be direct line of sight to trigger.

Now I know what a lot of photographers will wonder why bother using a Speedlight in the lightbox instead of regular studio strobes. Well I have two good reasons: 1) I already own the Speedlights and 2) I like to use the Nikon CLS. Of course I am somewhat limited on power output of the flash, however using the Nikon SB900 works well. I could also easily mount a second speedlight in the Apollo and double up or just clamp a CFL inside the Apollo and use it as a modeling light. Lots of options.

10 things to bring to your Boudoir shoot

Getting ready for your first Boudoir Photography shoot? Think about what your final purpose for the pictures is. Are they for your guy to keep him warm on nights he is away? Are they for yourself to explore your own sexuality? Looking to have a remembrance of that "pre-family" body? Celebrating how fabulous you look at 30..40..50..? Whatever the reason, prepare to have fun!

    1. Heels! Black pumps are a basic necessity. The higher the heels, the better. That great pair of "knock me down" shoes that you can't actually walk in, too. You're not going to be walking much!

    2. Boots! Over the calf, over the knee, high heels. Think sexy, not snow!

    3. Black bra and panties. You can bring other colors too, whatever you have that is fun, but they are in addition to BLACK!

    4. Special gifts your guy may have given you. Jewelry, scarf, hat. Something that brings him into the picture.

    5. One of his button down shirts; cleaned and ironed.

    6. Sexy lingerie. You don't have to buy a bunch of new stuff (but that's fun too), dig around your closet and see what you've forgotten about.

    7. A girlfriend to help you when you lose your nerve! Even better, schedule shoots together so you can support each other.

    8. Painted toe and finger nails. Yes, they will be seen in the photos!

    9. Spray tan, but make sure you do it at least 2 days before your shoot. You don't want to be orange!

    10. Red lipstick. Like candy apple red!

Boudoir Photography Backdrop - looking for some new ones

    Boudoir-Photographer-Ft-Lewis-Tacoma-Washington

So I want to find a few new backdrops to use that are fun, sexy, alluring, colorful, and playful. Time to go shopping!
